This says it is a first grade lesson but it matches with the 2nd grade Properties of Matters standards.  There are two videos on this link. Simple but powerful.

NGSS@NSTA, go to “the Standards”, click on the grade topic you want to explore, click on the code in blue for a standard itself located at the end of a standard so the standard is by itself on a page, scroll down-- resources NSTA has identified that help teach that standard are listed on the right side of the page.  

 

Science Lessons/Activities for Elementary available with purchase

 

Picture Perfect Science Lessons.  So, so good.

 

    Elementary is Elementary.  Engineering kits developed at Museum of Science in Boston.  

You can purchase the manuals from them and then build many of the kits much cheaper than purchasing directly from them.  

 

AIMS, though not explicitly aligned to NGSS, do have some fabulous activities in their activity books that do meet the standards.

    Free to register as an individual this year.  Must register with email. For elementary. If you purchase for 2016-2017 school year by June 30, 2016 the cost is $500 per school.  Many teachers across NWA are using this. Sign up for free right now and try it out!

STEM Scopes.  Bentonville has many elementary teachers a short trial of this website so you might check with them to see what they think.  Feedback from B’ville has been very positive.  

    Foss Kits.  You might be able to get trials of some products.  Pretty pricey but very comprehensive.

This is the Discover Techbook.  Rogers bought it for Social Studies last year and tried it    out for elementary science this year.  Feedback from elementary science teachers generally positive.

Text, etc for elementary and middle school science.  Many of their resources align to NGSS. You can sign up for a free trial.  Cost per classroom for the year is very reasonable.
